Pensions Increase 2008

The pensions increase (PI) factor for 2008 is 3.9%, based on the increase in the Retail Prices Index for the 12 months to the end of September 2007. The pensions increase takes effect from 7 April 2008. Pensions that have been in payment for at least a year will receive the full increase, with those that have been in payment for less than a year receiving a pro rata increase.

The current Statutory Instrument and tables which are used for applying pensions increase are the Pensions Increase (Review) Order and the relevant multiplier tables.

WPS refunds interest rate for 2008-09 is 3.91%

The system manager must update PenServer. The factor table to update is called 'REFINT' and it can be found in the 'SCHEME factors'. The rate applies from 1 April each year.
